What brought you here today?

Get a document notarized

Power of attorney, travel consent, affidavits, vehicle titles, trust and estate documents, loan packages. If the document is already written and you just need to sign it in front of someone authorized, that's my job.

What to bring

  • Valid photo ID issued by a government: California driver's license, passport, consular ID or resident card
  • The complete document, unsigned
  • Your name exactly as it appears on the document
  • Witnesses, if the document requires them

Where we meet

My officeI see clients by appointment at my Hesperia office, which is my main base, and also in Van Nuys. Mobile service is available within my area; travel is billed separately: from $60 within a 10-mile radius. Beyond 10 miles, pricing varies by distance.

How long it takes

20 minMost appointments are done in one visit.
Schedule an AppointmentI'll tell you before the appointment if it works and what to bring.

Apostilles and certified translations

Documents that need to be used in another country: birth and marriage certificates, powers of attorney, diplomas, corporate papers. I prepare and process them, and I tell you what the destination country actually asks for before we start.

What I need from you

  • The original document or a certified copy
  • The country where it will be used
  • Whether they asked for a translation as well
  • Your deadline

What it costs

From $250My processing fee. Government fees are paid directly to the issuing agency.

How long it takes

1–2 weeksState apostille: 1–2 weeks. Federal apostille: 4–8 weeks. The exact time depends on the agency, not on me.

Starting a divorce in California

As a registered Legal Document Assistant I prepare and fill out your divorce forms with the information you give me. I don't represent you and I don't give legal advice.

What I need from you

  • Full names of both parties
  • Date and place of marriage
  • Date of separation
  • Whether there are minor children
  • Whether there are shared assets or debts

What it costs

From $450My preparation fee. Court fees and other external costs are not included.

How long it takes

6 monthsThe minimum California law requires from the date of service, no matter how fast the paperwork is filed.

A family member was detained

When someone is detained, the family usually needs documents signed and notarized fast: a power of attorney so another person can act, a temporary guardianship letter for the children, an authorization to move an account or a vehicle.

Send me three things

  • Full name of the person detained
  • Where they are, if you know
  • Who will be signing the documents

What it costs

QuotedThe cost depends on the travel and the facility. I tell you the amount before we book.

How fast

By appointmentDetention facilities require an appointment in advance. Coverage across all of Southern California for notarizations at hospitals, jails, prisons and detention centers.

I'm not sure what I need

That's fine. Tell me what someone asked you for and what it's for, in your own words. I'll tell you whether it's something I can do, what it costs and what to bring. If it isn't, I'll say so.

This is enough to start

  • The letter, email or message asking you for the document
  • A photo works
  • When you need it by

What asking costs

NothingAsking is free. If it isn't my line of work, I'll point you to who can help.

Before you ask

What I can do and what I can't

Plenty of people in this business promise more than they can deliver. I'd rather tell you where my job ends before you pay me anything.

What I do

  • Prepare and fill out your documents with the information you give me
  • Handle apostilles and certified translations
  • Verify your identity and witness your signature as a Notary Public
  • Tell you what to bring before the appointment
  • Explain in English or Spanish what each box on the form is asking
  • Travel to your home, office, hospital or facility within my service area
  • Tell you plainly when something won't work

What I can't do

  • Give you legal advice, even if you ask for it
  • Tell you which form to file or what strategy to take
  • Represent you before a court or a government agency
  • Promise you an approval, an outcome or a processing time
  • Call myself a "notario": California law prohibits it, and for good reason
  • Notarize a document you already signed without me
$15Fee set by the state

The state decides what a signature costs

Fifteen dollars per notarized signature in 2026. If someone charges you more per signature, they are overcharging. When the service is mobile, travel is billed separately and I tell you the amount before we book, never after.

How it works

Three steps, no runaround

STEP 01

Tell me what you need

Send a photo of the document or of the letter asking for it. I'll tell you whether it works, what it costs and what to bring.

STEP 02

I send the checklist before we meet

In writing: which documents and which ID you need. That way we don't make the trip twice.

STEP 03

Punctual, professional service with no complications.

I review, notarize or prepare what we agreed and explain what happens next. Nobody leaves my appointment feeling talked down to.

Who you'll be working with

Gabby Lucero

Registered California Legal Document Assistant and California Notary Public. I work in English and Spanish, by appointment only, out of my Hesperia office and also in Van Nuys, across Southern California: Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County.

Over the years I have seen how legal and administrative paperwork can feel complicated, intimidating and overwhelming. That is why I built a practice where you can get professional help preparing your documents and still feel comfortable, heard and treated with patience and respect. If the paperwork doesn't hold up, or if you need an attorney, I'll tell you before charging you anything.

Every signature, done the way it should be.

Frequently asked

What people ask me most

How much does it cost to notarize a document in California?

The state caps it at $15 per notarized signature. If the service is mobile, travel is billed separately and I tell you the amount before we book. Anyone charging more than $15 per signature is overcharging you.

What ID do I need to bring?

A current photo ID issued by a government: California driver's license, passport, consular ID or resident card. The name has to match the one on the document you're signing.

Can you help me fill out my forms?

Yes. As a registered Legal Document Assistant I prepare and fill out your forms with the information you give me. What I can't do is tell you which form to file or what strategy to take: that's legal advice, and for that you need an attorney.

Can you notarize a document I already signed?

No. The signature has to happen in front of me. If the document is already signed, there are ways around it depending on the type; message me and I'll tell you which one applies.

What are your business hours?

Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you need something outside those hours, message me and I'll tell you what this week actually looks like.
